Obituary of Lynn Herbert Koenig

Lynn Herbert Koenig, age 79, of Grover, Colorado, passed away on October 31, 2023, in Kersey, Colorado. Lynn was born on January 31, 1944, in Grover, Colorado. He was a loving family man, a good friend, and a respected member of his community.

 

To his family, he exemplified love and commitment, dedicating himself to their well-being. As a husband, his kindness, support, and undying love were the foundation of a strong and enduring marriage. In his role as a father, he guided his children by example. His influence on all of their lives is immeasurable, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in their hearts

 

Professionally, Lynn was known for his brilliant mind and his unwavering commitment to his values. Working in construction and as a construction superintendent for more than four decades, his colleagues often referred to him as "Magic" because he had a unique ability to solve problems and make things work when others couldn't. Lynn's leadership, dedication and expertise in his field earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers and left an indelible impression on everyone who worked with him.

 

Throughout his life, Lynn had a passion for using his skills in building and construction to create and bring projects to life. He took pride in his work, and Lynn's craftsmanship was admired by many. As a hobby he found great joy in creating and building his personal home, barn, workshop, and countless projects for his wife and family.

 

After his retirement as construction superintendent, Lynn continued to enjoy working in the family business that his wife and her sister had started. With his charming personality, keen eye for details and strong work ethic, he and his wife spent many successful and happy years selling Hayseeds Hats together.

 

Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Koenig, his son Curt Koenig, his daughter Telisa Koenig Allotey, his son Craig Koenig, and five grandchildren, Brad Horner, Aurora Koenig, Lenaya Koenig, DeForest Koenig and Brendon Allotey. He is also survived by his brothers Norman Koenig, Russel Koenig, Bruce Koenig, and his sister Judy Koenig Davis. Lynn was preceded in death by his father Chris Koenig, his mother Ernestine Koenig, his brother David Koenig, his brother Alvin Koenig, and his sister Chris Ellen Koenig Hobbs.

 

A ceremony to celebrate Lynn's life will be held on November 10th at 10:30am at 2515 West 16th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634, The First Church of the Nazarene. The location was chosen because, in his early career, Lynn helped build this church. The funeral home, Northern Colorado Crematory, is assisting with the arrangements.

 

Lynn H. Koenig will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. This exceptional individual was known to talk less and say more.  With his quiet presence, patience and sense of humor, he  leaves behind a legacy of integrity, loyalty, and love. In our hearts, his memory lives on, a testament to a life well-lived.
