Obituary of Mark Alan Ghesquiere

We regretfully announce the passing of Mark Alan Ghesquiere. He left this earth after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer and is finally at rest. He was a fighter until the end. Mark passed away on August 5th, 2023, at the age of 61. He was surrounded by loved ones. He will be forever loved and always remembered.

He was born February 13th, 1962, to Elmer A. Ghesquiere and Phyllis N. (Creason) Ghesquiere in Longmont Colorado.

He attended Skyline High school in Longmont where he was active in sports.

On September 2nd, 1988, he married the love of his life Mary Kay Pape in Las Vegas NV. They lived in Longmont until 1999 before moving to Millikan.

He worked for the RE-5 school district before falling Ill. Previously he worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years.

Mark was an avid Nascar fan and had a great artistic ability. He loved to snow ski, playing slow pitch softball, going to the mountains and enjoyed playing golf. Mark was a very talented artist and enjoyed drawing in the pencil medium.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Phyllis and brothers David and Jerry.

Mark is survived by his wife Mary Kay, stepchildren Jeff Pape (Donna) Greg Pape (Michelle) and Kim Pape (and life partner Rick Johnson), grandchildren, great grandchildren. He is also survived by Sister Ann Johnson (Leonard) and brothers Steve (Jean) Ghesquiere and Roger (Vicki) Ghesquiere, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2pm -5pm Saturday August 19, 2023, at the family home, 1551 Emery Street, Longmont, Colorado, 80501.  We appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
