Sherry Holdridge

Obituary of Sherry Lynn Holdridge

With family by her side, Sherry Lynn Holdridge, 63, of Evans, Colorado passed away on Saturday, June 03, 2023.

Sherry Fogle was born in Frederick, Maryland on July 28, 1959. Her family relocated to Northern Colorado in 1969, where she graduated from Highland High School in 1977 and met husband Donald “Pete” Holdridge soon after.   They married on June 10, 1978, and were inseparable for 45 years.

In addition to being a devoted wife, Sherry & Pete have two children, Jennifer & Nicholas.  In recent years Sherry relished the role of Grandma to her 5 grandchildren- Brodie, Carter, Noah, Stella, and Grier.  Grandma Sherry never missed an opportunity to shower them with love and gifts; her house was filled with pictures of her grandkids.

When not taking care of family, Sherry loved summertime. A tomboy at heart, Sherry was happiest with her feet in the water, the sun on her shoulders, and her hair blowing in the wind.  An avid camper and boater, her favorite lake was Jackson Lake State Park in Orchard, Colorado.  It was truly her version of paradise.

Before her health declined, Sherry was active and enjoyed concerts, gardening, going to garage sales, auctions, thrift shopping, camping, boating, trips to Blackhawk, and being with her grandkids. She also had several huskies during her life and loved them dearly.

Sherry was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and bravely fought it into remission until its return this year. Sherry’s husband Pete, children Jennifer (Luke), Nick (Kelly), mother Floretta “Peg” (Lowayne), sister Pam (Mike), brothers Ronnie (Lori), Mark, niece Jasmine and nephew Nathan were by her side.  Sherry also deeply loved brother-in-law Mark, sister-in-law Samantha (Jeff), and nephews Jeremiah, Kaleb, and Jareb. She is preceded in passing by father Arthur Fogle.

Sherry was the matriarch of her family. She was strong, feisty, and had a heart for others. She will be missed so very much. Celebration of Life will be held as an open house (informal dress please) from 11AM-3PM Saturday, June 17th at Centennial Pavilion in Jackson Lake State Park.
