Wayne Busse

Obituary of Wayne Alan Busse

Wayne Alan Busse, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023, just one day before his 67th birthday.

Wayne was born on April 26, 1956, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  He was the oldest of two children born to Charles Edward and Betty Lou (Jarman) Busse. The family later returned to Illinois where Wayne was raised and attended Roxana Senior High School. In 1973, Wayne married Debbie (Masterson) Rivas, and his only child, Amy, was born the same year.

In 1997, Wayne’s work as a commercial carpet installer brought him closer to his daughter Amy in Colorado.  Wayne made a permanent move to Colorado and later started his own company, WB Flooring, and worked hard until his retirement in 2019.  After retiring, Wayne spent as much time as possible with his family.  He also became a Dissectologist and spent hours perfecting his jigsaw puzzle assembly skills.

Wayne was a gentle, giving man who worked to ensure that his family had everything they needed and then some. He was determined and faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.  He was a true role model whom we will always look up to.  He taught us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right.  His loss leaves a hole in our hearts, but his memory will remain forever.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty, and his brother, David Edward Busse. He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Kevin) Hannum; his grandchildren Ashley, Mallory, and Jackson Hannum; long-time friend and ex-wife Debbie Rivas and close friend John Shannon.

At Wayne’s request, his family will hold a private celebration of life.
