Nancy Jo Bailey

 

Nancy Jo Bailey, 86, of Kersey passed away April 10, 2023, at Banner North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

She was born on August 19, 1936, in Windsor to Jacob and Mollie (Schwartz) Wiedeman. She attended schools in LaGrange, Gill, and graduated with honors from Gilcrest High School in 1954. Growing up, her family farmed for several years in the Gill and Gilcrest area. She was the youngest of four children and is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wilbert L. Wiedeman; and sister, Irene Maxey. In 1954, she married Lowell Lee Presley Bailey in Greeley.

Her working career included many years at Colorado State College. Later working for Selective Service in the Greeley office, and over her 30 year tenure became their program analyst-training manager for Region 3 in Denver. After retiring from the government she worked part-time for her son Bill at P Diamond Irrigation in Kersey.

In her free time, she loved going to auctions, plays, collecting antiques, reading, gardening, and enjoying the country life with her many animals. Nancy was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a 4-H leader, excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking. Nancy pursued her love of farming in Kersey.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Dorothy L. Stout of Eaton, CO; her three children, William P. Bailey of Medicine Bow, WY, Ann E. Gardner of Sheridan, WY, and Kathryn L. Brown of Kersey, CO; five grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Temple of Yakima, WA, Robert (Sarah) Shostrom of Kersey, CO, Elizabeth (James) Wright of Sheridan, WY, Jared (April) Siron of Kersey, CO, Brady (Amanda McGinty) Brown of Kersey, CO, thirteen great grandchildren, Siena and Mason Temple, Bailee and Ryden Shostrom, Amya Salazar, James and Finleigh Wright, Jayden Siron, Logan Keinlen, Cody Bowland, Gracelyn Siron, and Evalyn and Brooklyn Hanson; as well as several nieces and nephews and her unruly loving dog "Rod".

A memorial service will be held at Saint Paul's Congregational Church in Greeley, CO on Saturday May 6th at 11:00 am.
