Obituary of Theda Nye Thompson

Theda “Meme” Thompson passed away on December 14^th, 2022, at the age of 75 in Fort Collins, Colorado after a brief stay at Prestige Care Center. Theda was born to Uless “Francis” and Nora Marie Turley on January 14^th, 1947. She then married Delmar Thompson on August 5^th, 1961.

 

Meme loved to sew and made many cloths over the years for her sons and grandchildren. She has 8 grandchildren, Tasha Gossman of Scott City, Kansas, Tisha Kennedy of Scott City, Kansas, Christopher Thompson of Greeley, Colorado, Christa Brooks of Lometa, Texas, Nicole Tracy of Quitman, Texas, Ty Thompson of Gill, Colorado, Amber Thompson of Grand Junction, Colorado and Angel Thompson of Grand Junction, Colorado.

 

Meme is preceded in death her parents, Francis and Nora of Scott City, Kansas; her husband, Delmar of Fort Collins, Colorado; her oldest son, Rick Thompson of Great Bend, Kansas; her brothers, Marvin Turley of Scott City, Kansas, Teddie Turley of Salida, Colorado, Wayne Turley of Maize, Kansas and Dale “Danny” Turley of Eldarado, Kansas; her sister, Jessie Wright of Leoti, Kansas; and common law husband, J.R. Vincent of Mountain Park, Oklahoma.

 

She is survived by her sons, Gary Thompson of Gill, Colorado, and Kenneth Thompson with his wife Kyra of Kirbyville, Montana; her brother, Clifford Turley, and his wife Joan of Garden Plain, Kansas; and her sister, Elsie Wright of Scott City, Kansas; as well as many grandchildren and a great grandchild.

 

Meme chose cremation and a service TBD will be held where her ashes can be spread among the flowers she loved in late spring to early summer. Donation can be made in lieu of flowers to the family.

 

Meme loved her home in Greeley, Colorado and we are sure her wonderful neighbors will miss her dearly! We love and miss you too sweet Meme! May God hold you in his arms until we see you again.
