Obituary of Jose M. Valdez Escobedo

José M. Valdez Escobedo, age 69, of Durango, México, passed away on December 4, 2022 with family at his side. He was born on March 16, 1953 in La Joya Poanas, Durango, México, son of Beatrice Escobedo Morales and José M. Valdez Torres.

 

He is survived by his wife, Genoveva Valdez Román, their two sons, Sergio Valdez Román and Javier Valdez Román and his wife Betzy Valdez, and three daughters; Jaycee, Jenesys, and Jaelynn Valdez. Jose is preceded in death by his daughter Ivón Valdez Román.

 

José began his journey to the United States in 1978 when he found work in agriculture in Houston, Texas. As the years passed, Jose saw that there were more opportunities for his family in the United States. José and his family immigrated to Greeley, Colorado on August 12, 1990. José worked at the Monfort slaughterhouse until 1999 and then as a mill operator at Five Cattle Feedlot, where he retired in 2007.

 

José was a hard worker and a loving father and grandpa. He will be missed by his family, friends, and church community. 

 

Services will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 2 pm. It will be followed by a viewing at Northern Colorado Crematory from 3:30-5:30 pm, and then a reception at Kimberly’s Event Center at 6 pm.

Deja a su esposa, Genoveva Valdez Román, sus dos hijos, Sergio Valdez Román y Javier Valdez Román y su esposa Betzy Valdez y tres hijas; Jaycee, Jenesys, y Jaelynn Valdez. Jose es antecedido en muerte por su hija Ivón Valdez Román.

 

José comenzó su jornada a los Estados Unidos en 1978 cuando encontró trabajo en la agricultura en Houston, Texas. Al pasar de los años y al tener ya familia, Jose vio que había más oportunidades en Estados Unidos. José y su familia emigraron a Greeley, Colorado el 12 de Agosto de 1990. José trabajó en la matanza Monfort hasta 1999 y luego como operador de molino en Five Cattle Feedlot, donde se retiró en 2007. 

 

José era un hombre trabajador y un papá y abuelito cariñoso. El será extrañado por su familia, amigos y su comunidad de la iglesia.

 

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de la Paz el miércoles 14 de diciembre de 2022 a las 2 pm. Le seguirá una velación en el Northern Colorado Crematory de 3:30 a 5:30 p.m., y luego una recepción en el Kimberly Event Center a las 6 p.m.
