Obituary of Carmen Peralez

Carmen Peralez passed away on Friday June 17, 2022 

Carmen Peralez was born on January 8, 1919 in Evans to Pastor and Savina (Cruz) Espinosa.  She attended Big Ben School in Peckham-LaSalle School District.

On November 25, 1936, she married Theodore Peralez at Sacred Heart Church in Denver.

Mrs. Peralez spent most of her adult life in the farming communities of Platteville, LaSalle and Gilcrest.  She was a housewife and for many years worked during the potato harvest season.  She was an active member of the Parent Teacher Association and served as the organization’s treasurer.  She was Den Mother and for many years was involved with the Mother’s March of Dimes.  In her spare time, she enjoyed writing poetry and song lyrics. 

In her late 50’s Mrs. Peralez accomplished a lifelong goal and that was to learn how to swim.  She enrolled in a Red Cross adult swimming course and received her certificate.

In May of 1988 she and her husband retired and moved to Greeley.  He died November 04, 1988.

Mrs. Peralez’s life was blessed by her Savior, the holy Mother, family, and friends.

Survivors: three sons; Rudolf Peralez (Julia) of Fort Collins, Herbert Espinosa-Peralez of Greeley, and Arthur G Peralez (Jean) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Two grandchildren, Michelle Young (Heath) of Fort Collins, Kenneth Peralez; five great-grandchildren, Mari Carmen, Theodoro Ramon Peralez and Alexis, Landon, and Makena Young all of Fort Collins. Three sisters-in-law; Lucy Espinosa of Milliken, Helen Espinosa of Fort Lupton, Delia Espinosa of Chicago, Illinois; and a daughter in law Gerry Perales of Aurora.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Theodore Jr., and brothers John, Salvador, and Delores Espinosa.

A Memorial service will be planned at a later date.

It has been requested by the family that memorial gifts be made to their favorite charity.
