Obituary of Corey Jaz Mitchell Martinez

            On the evening of May 23^rd, 2022, Corey Jaz Mitchell Martinez of Greeley, CO died at the young age of 27. Corey was born to Christine Martinez in 1994. For many years, Corey was an in-home caregiver for his mother. Following her death, he then moved in with his grandparents to help care for his grandma.

            Corey was always willing to put the needs of others in front of his own, never hesitating to lend a hand when he could. He was such a youthful, passionate spirit. He always preached loyalty and was unafraid to speak his mind. Always finding a reason to tease you and laugh even when in pain. His love for everyone was unconditional, always being a shoulder to lean on. He had a passion for playing video games and enjoyed watching YouTube streamers. Corey enjoyed his time camping and being with friends and family. We lost him far too soon and he will be greatly missed.

            He is preceded in death by his mother, Christine Martinez; as well as 5 nieces and nephews. He is survived by his stepfather Richard Martinez, siblings CJ, Cameron(Alie), and Rachel; his nephew Ramsay; cousins Felicia(Travis) May, Carmen Roybal, Justine Arellano, Christopher & Serena Barnes; Aunts Valerie(Jerry) Roybal, Kelly(Chris) Barnes, Gayle & Marcy Martinez, and Brooke & Miranda Rosales; grandparents Candy(Nacho) Espinosa and Art(Theresa) Martinez and many, many other friends and family members he loved dearly.
