Obituary of Alicia E. Lopez

On April 25^th 2022, Alicia Lopez passed away peacefully in her sleep. She has completed her journey on earth and has begun a new journey in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Alicia was 95 years old. She was born in Lobatos, Colorado. She grew up in Antonito Colorado and later in her adult life with her family moved to northern Colorado. As a lifelong Coloradan native she loved the feel of a small town.

 Alicia had a large family. She had seven sisters (1 deceased at birth), and two brothers (both deceased at birth).  Alicia grew up with her parents Telesforo Lopez and Epifania Lopez, and her remaining six sisters Dulcinea Rivera, Eliria Lopez, Mercedes Brito, Margaret Buss, Erlinda Soto-Martinez (all deceased), and survived by one sister Mary Soto (Lala).

Despite the large family she always had time for everyone. She truly was a pillar of strength. She forged unbreakable bonds within family members that made her a special person. She had a compassionate spirit whose passion was to provide support and love to others needing help. She cared for her aging parents and stepped into the role of a mother to a few of her nieces and nephew.

She was the central figure in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren. She is survived by 1 daughter-Gloria Rodarte, 2 grandchildren-Angela Perez and Nicholas Rebeterano, 9 great-grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, 23 great-great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-great nephews.

Alicia had many hobbies. She loved cooking, sewing, and quilting. She had an amazing artistic side to her which was displayed in her quilting and embroidering. She donated her blankets to family and friends. Her gesture of giving was of kindness, respect, and thoughtfulness.  Alicia was a woman of faith and devoted her time to Jesus and always felt the presence of the Lord.  She loved going to church, having conversations with people and bringing them closer to Jesus.
