Obituary of Christopher Allen Brening

Christopher Allen Brening, 71, of Greeley, passed away on February 7, 2022.

Chris was born in Sidney, Nebraska to Robert and Nancy Brening on December 12, 1950.  He married the love of his life, Kim (Bozorth) Brening on December 6, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa.  

Chris was employed for 34 years at Southeast Colorado Power Association in La Junta, CO as a Safety Director.  He retired in 2012.  Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; forging knives and riding his Harley Street Glide.  Chris will be dearly missed by so many who experienced his ornery antics, boisterous laugh, playful sense of humor and gentle spirit.

He is most fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.  Chris is survived by his wife; children Dustin Brening and his wife Melissa of Greeley, Robert Brening and his wife Amanda of Loveland, Alicia Davis and her husband Brian of Monmouth, Oregon and Krista Brening and her partner Joseph of Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren, Tate and Teagan Brening of Greeley and Bailey and Audrey Davis of Monmouth, Oregon; sisters Cathy Weidner of Chandler, Arizona and Cay and Jim Martin of Hewitt, Minnesota and mother; Nancy Brening of Chandler, Arizona in addition to a large loving extended family.  He was preceded in death by his father; Robert Brening.
