Obituary of Gaye Lynn Clayton

Gaye Lynn (Gardner) Clayton went home with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 6, 2021 at the age of 69, from Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. She was born on September 2, 1952 to Gaylord Norris Gardner and Evelyn Marguerite (Gilman) Gardner at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colorado. Gaye Lynn is preceded in death by both of her parents, her infant sister, Charlotte Ann Gardner, her stillborn daughter, Gayle Coleman, and her oldest brother, Charles Noel Gardner. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Clayton of Dolores, Colorado; they were married on April 17, 1982 at First Baptist Church in Cortez, Colorado. Surviving siblings are sisters, Janice Milner of Commerce City, Colorado; Marilyn King (Quindel) of Williams Lake, BC, Canada and Joyce Armstrong (Bill) of Dolores, Colorado and one brother, Gerry Gardner (Nancy) of Waxhaw, N. Carolina. Surviving children are Joseph Clayton, Jr. (Victoria) of Divide, Colorado, Maria Lofton of Cortez, Colorado; Kerry (Jerome) Galloway of Cortez, Colorado, and John Clayton (Debbie) of Phoenix, Arizona, as well as 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gaye Lynn grew up on the family farm north of Cortez, attended Mildred School, MCHS, Arizona Bible College and in later years became certified as a Pharmacy Technician. She loved the Lord, her family and music as an accomplished pianist and vocalist, singing in church choirs and vocal ensembles. She enjoyed horseback riding, including training and teaching others to ride. She also enjoyed gardening. Gaye Lynn's family are thankful for her and her life, her testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ and His goodness to us. The family is grateful she is now home with her Savior and living in His glory.
