Obituary of Allen Douglas Thompson

Allen Thompson, 60, of Greeley went home to be with the Lord July 5, 2019. Allen was born in Sullivan, IN to Gladys Thompson from Robinson, IL, and younger brother to Marilyn Thompson. Allen relocated to CO from IL in 1982 and worked for Chevron Oil Company. After completing his Associates specializing in Petroleum at age 22, he becoming one of their top drillers in the 1980's recession. He added experience following in the cement industry as a Plant Manager, after moving to Nevada were he also gained experience as an Industrial Electrician. After returning to Colorado using his experience he worked in the oil field and as an electrician. Everyone who knew Allen can remember his infectious smile, and love for stories and jokes. He had a great sense of humor, and worked hard for his family. Allen struggled in life with PTSD and alcoholism after serving in the Navy and continued that fight on the day he was called home. He is survived by Debra Thompson the mother of his children; Kimberly Thompson and Cassie Anderson, Grandchildren; Thalia Luna and Trey Thompson, and Great Grandson Malachiae Guzman, and a large loving extended family & friends throughout the Colorado area who will deeply miss Allen. A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23th, 2019 at Northern Colorado Crematory, 700 8th Street, Greeley Colorado 80631.
