Eli Stewart

Obituary of Eli John Stewart

Eli John Stewart, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 34 in Thornton, Colorado. Born on May 10, 1989, in Greeley, Colorado, Eli was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend who touched the lives of those around him.

Eli had a beautiful and artistic soul, always putting others' needs before his own. He was creative, imaginative, witty, sarcastic, and wildly funny. Loved by everyone who knew him, Eli's kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression.

From a young age, he had a passion for costumes and spent his early childhood in and out of different characters, always wearing a cape.

Eli went to University High School and it was there he got bit by the theater bug his junior year. He never looked back. After graduating from UH,  Eli went on to study musical theater first at Casper College and finished his degree at Metropolitan State University in 2014.

There he met the love of his life, Kayla Mally, in 2012. They were married in April of 2017 and welcomed their daughter, Waverly,  in January of 2018.  After more than a decade of successfully pursuing his passion for musical theater, Eli took on his biggest role of husband and father, captivating his delighted audience of 2 with carpool karaoke, acting out the characters of bedtime stories, flexing his superpower of playing dress up and endless hours spent playing video games. Weekends were special Dad and daughter time, making big adventures of even running errands.

Eli will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness.

Eli is survived by his loving wife, Kayla Stewart, and their daughter, Waverly Stewart. He also leaves behind his mother, Tonna Powers (David), his brother, Benjamin Stewart, his sister, Lily Stewart, and his grandmother, Deanna Berry as well as his in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Eli was preceded in death by his father, Mark Stewart, his uncle Doug Stewart, and his grandparents Jerrel Berry and Ronald and Opal Stewart.
