Obituary of Melva Jean Ford

Melva Jean (Baldwin) Ford, passed unexpectedly on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Broadview Nursing Facility. She was born March 18, 1932, near Lebanon, Kansas, in Smith County to Albert Melvin Baldwin and Elsie Irene Dilley Baldwin.  

Graduated from Lebanon H.S. in 1950 and moved to Greeley, Colorado shortly after.  

Married Willis D. Ford, March 3, 1951, in Greeley. They had three children, Michael D. Ford of Greeley, Co., David L. Ford of Kimball, NE., and Brenda Jo (Ford) Loos of Greeley, CO. 

She worked as a waitress at Valley Cage in Greeley before working for Greeley/Evans District 6 as the lunch lady at Jefferson Elementary, eventually retiring in 1995.  

After retiring, she spent more time with her family, fishing/camping, and quilting. 

Jean is survived by brothers Wayne and Janice Baldwin and Rod Baldwin of Kimball, NE. and sister Margaret and Bud Copeland of Greeley, her two sons, six grandchildren, one step-grandson, 12 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. 

Proceeded in death by husband Wills D. Ford, Daughter Brenda Jo (Ford) Loos, Parents, Brothers Lowell D. Baldwin and Leon Baldwin, 2 Sisters and a grandson. 

Services will be held January 12, 2024, at 11:00 at Northern Colorado Crematory, 700 8th St, Greeley, CO
