Obituary of Marjorie Ann Hines

Marjorie Ann Huelster Hines (Marnie) was born to Howard and Gladys Huelster in St. Paul MN on Sept 30, 1932. She was raised in a noisy home full of two parents, five children, 2 grandparents, a dog and a bunny.  At age 19 she saw a coupon for a United Airlines flight to Denver and took the flight without knowing a person in the new city she would call home.  In 1954 she married Kenneth Max Hines, and the family grew when daughter Barbara (1955) and son William (1959) were born.  Marnie continued her adventurous side by taking auto mechanics class shortly after she got her driver's license.  Her first project on the car was to disconnect the more than annoying buzzer announcing the seat belt was not fastened, and the second was to change the brake shoes.  She joined Toastmasters to improve her public speaking, League of Women Voter’s because she knew knowledge of political issues was vital, and the National Association for Retired Federal Workers to continue her husband’s work after he passed in 2009.  Marnie enjoyed a variety of different occupations, from parts expediter at Sundstrand to assistant in libraries to clerking at drug stores, but her real expertise was the ability to grow tomatoes in a flower bed in a townhome patio. Four days before her 91^st birthday, she went on another adventure as she left her earthly life.  Her younger brother, Thomas Huelster, her two children, and many nieces, and nephews, other family members, and friends wish her well as they miss her sarcastic wit and smile.
