Sherwood Donald Langley

Sherwood Donald Langley, born May 13, 1935, passed away September 4, 2023. He was the youngest of 12 children.

He married Pearl Lenora Betz in 1968. They had a long and happy marriage until her passing in 2011. They raised four children: Sadie, Carol, Peggy, and John. Both were devout Jehovah Witnesses.

Sherwood was born around Fayetteville, Oklahoma and moved to Colorado when he was five with his parents, Joseph, and Rose (Keck) Langley. Along with three other families in a model T.  He moved from Stove Prairie to Greeley after health issues with his father.

He held many jobs including mechanic, welder, working in and owning salvage yards.

He was stationed in Hawaii, or as he called it “Pineapple Land” while in the army.

They lived in California, Oregon, and Idaho as well as Colorado. He was an awesome parent and showed a lot of patience with the kids and 15 grandkids.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Carol (David) Boyer of Ft. Collins, CO, Peggy (Ed) Coon of O’Dell, OR, and his son, John (Kathleen) Betz of Evans, CO. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren along with great-great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sadie Moore and parents Joseph and Rose.

We would like to give a special thanks to his granddaughter, April Swanson, for helping the family for the past 5 years.

Services to be held at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witness on Friday 15th, 2023 at 2:00pm. The building can be located at 3408 W. 34th St. Rd. Greeley, CO 80634.
